Rob Murphy

My passion is designing and building high-quality, hand-crafted custom furniture and accessories.

My first woodworking project was a manger I made for my mother as a teenager.  We had a huge old weeping willow tree in our back yard and I pulled off some of the inch-and-a-half-thick bark to use as the roof.  The walls were made from a piece of loft flooring in our old barn, and the beams were carved from logs from my Lincoln Log set.  That manger was nostalgically retired in 2016 at over 40 years of age.

Woodworking is both art and science.  My right brain seems to never rest imagining an endless sea of design ideas, while my left brain works on the math and engineering of the piece.  Together they have worked to form a very satisfying union and hobby for most of my life.

In 2016 I decided to turn my passion for woodworking into a business venture accepting commissioned work and designing and building pieces for prospective buyers.  I enjoy using exotic and rare woods to compliment pieces made from more familiar domestic varieties.  I also love the challenge of repurposing older materials and pieces into current functional and decorative works.

If you have an idea of something you'd like to have made I'd love to hear about it and have the opportunity to bring your vision to life.

I have been blessed by a loving, merciful God with endless grace.  It is my desire to honor Him in all I do.  What a pleasure it is to use His natural resources to create beautiful works for others to enjoy!
